If the Astroturf area on the 9th floor isn’t sufficient space for your dog to do their stuff, Petco Park has a park outside it called Park at the Park. There was a sign in the elevator for the Level 9 rooftop bar, so Shae decided to try recreating the martini dog with Truffles. Truffles doing as she’s told by the cushionĮven better, the Level 9 Rooftop Bar area has a pet relief area which is particularly useful if you’re staying on the 9th floor with a dog like we were as it meant we could walk straight outside without having to take the elevator down in order for Truffles to relieve herself. The bathroom didn’t have a bathtub, but there was a large walk-in shower. The bathroom was a fairly good size and had a long vanity. The room did have a closet in the corner which contained a safe, iron, ironing board and luggage rack. It was surprising and a little disappointing that the room didn’t have a mini fridge.

To the right of that was a dresser with a TV on top. On the other side of the room was a desk and chair. Armchair, ottoman & side tableĪs mentioned earlier, the Hotel Indigo upgraded us to a room with a skyline view and it was a pretty good view. In the corner of the room was an armchair and ottoman, along with a side table designed to look like a tree trunk (or perhaps it was part of an actual tree trunk). The cylindrical pillow on the bed worked well as a light-blocker by placing it on the floor in front of the door. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed with tables on each side. In the entranceway there was a table with a Keurig coffee maker on top. When entering the room the bedroom was straight ahead and the bathroom was to the right. We were assigned room 920 they did this so that we’d be on the same floor as the rooftop pet area seeing as we had our dog Truffles with us. Gloria was the front desk agent who checked us in and Shae said that she was incredibly friendly and helpful. On the day we arrived, Shae went inside to get us checked in while I unloaded what we needed from our car. We’d booked a King Deluxe room and were upgraded to a King Skyline View room. This was surprising because IHG properties in the US are normally awful about giving upgrades, let alone giving you one ahead of time when you hadn’t even requested one! The day before we arrived I received an email from IHG (the chain Hotel Indigo is part of) letting me know that we’d received a room upgrade. Here’s a review of our stay at the Hotel Indigo San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. The Hotel Indigo is a very pet-friendly hotel, is nice and comfortable, provides good IHG elite status benefits and is the perfect place to stay if you’re in San Diego to go to a Padres game as the stadium is only a block away from Petco Park.
